Approach El Tigre San Blas Island Panama2018 viewsAs a US Flight Surgeon, I participated in a US Navy medical outreach program to the San Blas Indians in Panana in 1977. I flew in a Cessna 182 that made daily runs to various San Blas Islands on Panama's Caribbean coastline. This is a a picture of the approach into El Tigre which was a small island, half of which was an approximate 1800 ft airstrip. The pilot had to drop off cargo in order to take off. We actually rolled to a stop at the water's edge and were pulled by the indians back to the airstrip.
